Final Five Candidates Shortlisted for NEPSE CEO Selection

The selection committee for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has shortlisted five candidates for the final interview. The committee had invited applications through public notices on Falgun 12 and 18 and has now announced the names of Chudamani Chapagai, Narad Kumar Luitel, Purna Prasad Acharya, Badri Prasad Pyakurel, and Hemant Bashyal as the top contenders.

Several other applicants, including Yuvraj Dahal, Prabin Adhikari, Bimal Kumar Tiwari, Krishna Bahadur Karki, and Mukunda Raj Joshi, did not make it to the shortlist. The shortlisted candidates will now move forward to the next stage, where they will present their business plans and face an interview. This evaluation is scheduled for Chaitra 6 (Wednesday) at 7 AM at the Ministry of Finance.

After the interviews and presentations, the selection committee will recommend one candidate for the CEO position. The final decision on the appointment will then be made by the Council of Ministers based on the committee’s recommendation.

The Ministry of Finance had formed a three-member selection committee on Falgun 11, led by Sebantak Pokharel, Head of the Financial Sector Management and Institution Division. The committee also includes Joint Secretary Amrit Lamsal and Dr. Khom Raj Kharel. This open competition aims to ensure a transparent and competitive selection process, with the chosen CEO expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Nepal’s stock exchange.
