The government has appointed Narad Kumar Luitel as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Monday. A total of 10 candidates had applied for the position. In the first round, the selection committee shortlisted five candidates, including Chudamani Chapagain, Purna Prasad Acharya, Badri Prasad Pyakurel, and Hemant Basyal. Finally, the Cabinet selected Luitel for the role.
About three weeks ago, the Ministry of Finance formed a selection committee led by Under Secretary Pokharel. The committee also included Under Secretary Amrit Lamsal from the Finance Ministry and expert member Khom Raj Kharel.
The CEO position had been vacant since Magh 25, following the completion of former CEO Krishna Bahadur Karki’s tenure.
