Nepal’s stock market has witnessed significant growth over the last three trading days, increasing investors’ wealth by over Rs. 183.30 billion. The surge in market capitalization was driven by continuous gains in the NEPSE index on Chaitra 13, 14, and 17 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday).
On Chaitra 12, the total market capitalization stood at Rs. 4.288 trillion. By Chaitra 17 (Sunday), it had risen to Rs. 4.471 trillion, reflecting a substantial increase.
The NEPSE index, which was at 2,581 points on Chaitra 12, climbed to 2,621 points on Chaitra 13. The upward trend continued, and by Sunday, the index closed at 2,693 points. During this period, the total turnover reached approximately Rs. 17 billion.
This 4.3% increase in the NEPSE index has provided much-needed relief to investors, especially after a prolonged period of decline in the stock market. The recent gains have restored some confidence among investors and contributed to a notable rise in market capitalization.
