The Government of Nepal may be striving to build a safe and responsible digital environment, but the recent decision to shut down certain social media platforms has had a direct and disruptive impact on the entire IT industry, prompting deep concern from NAS-IT.
This move has severely disrupted the day-to-day operations of IT companies providing services both within Nepal and internationally, completely blocking communication with clients. As a result, it has not only delayed project coordination but also placed overall business operations at significant risk. Given that uninterrupted access to such communication tools is essential for maintaining daily service delivery as well as sustaining Nepal’s growing opportunities and reputation in the global market, NAS-IT respectfully urges the Government to lift the current ban without delay and work with relevant stakeholders to find permanent solutions.
NAS-IT remains supportive of the Government’s objective of ensuring a safe and responsible digital environment and stands ready to cooperate in exploring solutions that do not disrupt essential services.
