Lawyers affiliated with the Nepali Congress, UML, and Maoist parties are preparing to file a case against the interim government formed under Sushila Karki. They argue that the government, established following the Gen Z protests, is unconstitutional. They also claim that the dissolution of parliament was unlawful.
Earlier, on Bhadra 27, the Nepal Bar Association issued a statement criticizing the President’s move to dissolve the House of Representatives and form a new government. The statement called the decision “authoritarian and unconstitutional.” Major parties like Congress, UML, and Maoist have also strongly opposed the dissolution.
However, the Supreme Court has remained closed due to severe damage caused by arson, vandalism, and looting, which destroyed infrastructure and information technology systems.
