Myardi Hydropower Project to Generate 30 MW in Manang-Lamjung

A total of 30 megawatts of hydropower capacity is set to be developed between Nasong Rural Municipality in Manang District and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality in Lamjung District. The Ministry of Forests and Environment has initiated the preparation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report as part of the project development process.

Myardi Khola Hydropower Company Private Limited is the project proponent. The project will operate as a run-of-the-river scheme. It is expected to produce an average annual energy output of 173.44 gigawatt-hours (GWh). The electricity generated will be transmitted via a 10-kilometer, 132 kV transmission line, connecting to the existing 220 kV substation in Dharapani, Manang, and then integrated into the national transmission system.

The total project cost is estimated at NPR 3.9097 billion, translating to an approximate cost of NPR 13.03 crore per megawatt. The Ministry of Forests and Environment has requested all concerned stakeholders to provide feedback regarding potential environmental impacts associated with the project.
