The fee for getting a new license and renewing old one is also doubled. For motorcycle and scooter (Category A/K), the fee is increased from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 3,000. For light vehicles like car, jeep, van (Category B), tempo and auto-rickshaw (Category C), and power tiller (Category D), the fee is raised to Rs. 4,000 from earlier Rs. 2,000.

Similarly, for tractor (Category E) and minibus or mini truck (Category F), the fee is now Rs. 5,000 which was Rs. 2,500 before. For heavy vehicles like truck, bus, lorry (Category G), road roller and dozer (Category H), crane, fire engine, loader (Category I), and excavator, backhoe loader, and girder (Category J), the new license and renewal fee is increased from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 6,000.

Ten-Year License Validity and Category Addition Fees

The province government have also made a rule that the validity of both new and renewed driving licenses will be 10 years for all categories of vehicles.

Besides this, the fee for adding a new category to an existing license is also doubled. For adding categories from A to F, the fee is increased from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000. Likewise, for adding categories from G to J, the fee has been increased from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000.
