Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) has announced that applications are open for six vocational training programs, including trekking guide and culinary diploma courses.
Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), Ravibhawan, which runs under Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, has called for applications from interested Nepali citizens for six different types of professional training programs for fiscal year 2083. According to the notice, the academy will provide trainings in trekking guide, trekking porter guide, cook, bakery, barista, and one year culinary arts diploma.
Seat Details and Eligibility Criteria
The academy has allocated a total of 754 seats for these programs. For trekking guide, there are 500 seats available, and the qualification required is +2 passed or SEE passed with 2 years of work experience. For trekking porter guide, there are 110 seats with eligibility of SEE or equivalent. For basic food preparation (cook), bakery, barista, and one-year culinary arts diploma, the seats are 40, 40, 20, and 44 respectively. For all technical trainings other than trekking, the minimum educational qualification is SEE or equivalent.
Application Deadlines and Fees
The deadline to submit form is different according to the training course. For trekking programs, applicants must apply by 2083/04/29. For cook, bakery, and barista, the last date is 2083/05/02, while for the diploma course, applications can be submitted until 2083/05/17. Along with the application form, candidates must submit 2 passport size photos, copy of citizenship, academic certificates, and experience letters. The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for each course, which must be deposited at Citizens Bank extension counter located inside NATHM premises.
Selection Process and Other Details
The selection of candidates will be done through interview. To run the classes, there must be a minimum number of students enrolled. There must be at least 10 applicants for barista, 20 for bakery and cook, and 22 applicants for the culinary diploma course.
