Nepal Rastra Bank’s Currency Management Department has invited international bids for the designing, minting, and supply of 30 crore pieces of two rupee coins.
Official Tender Process
The bank is looking for qualified national and international security minting companies to complete this project. According to the notice, only those firms who are already on the pre-qualified list are eligible to participate. The bank is going to use a single-stage, two-envelope system, which includes separate technical and financial bids for this contract.
Important Dates and Fees
Interested companies can go to the Currency Management Department at Thapathali, Kathmandu to inspect the documents. The deadline to purchase the tender form is Kartik 17, 2083 (3 November 2026) after paying the required fees. For Nepali bidders, the fee is 20,000 Rupees. For foreign companies, the cost is 131 US Dollars or 115 Euros.
Submission and Bid Security
The final deadline for submitting the bids is Kartik 18, 2083 (4 November 2026) by 12:00 PM. The bids will open on the same day at 1:00 PM in front of the representatives. Bidders must also provide a bank guarantee of at least 132,000 US Dollars, which needs to be valid for 120 days from the day the bids open. Additionally, the bank have planned a pre-bid meeting for Ashoj 30, 2083 (16 October 2026) at 12:00 PM at their Thapathali office.
