Government Cannot Stop Foreign Employment Immediately but Focuses on Making It Safe, Says Labour Minister Yadav

Labour Minister Ramji Yadav has stated that foreign employment cannot be stopped immediately, but the government is fully committed to making it safe, organized, and transparent.

While speaking to journalists on Tuesday after visiting the Department of Foreign Employment, Minister Ramji Yadav explained that we cannot totally stop people from going abroad for work in this globalized world. Instead, he said main priority of government is to protect the rights of workers and control fraud in this sector.

Target to Reduce Fraud to Zero

Minister Yadav said that government is working with a target to bring foreign employment frauds down to zero. He also shared that old complaint files that were pending for many years will now be resolved, and strict action will be taken against guilty people.

According to him, officials recently found more than 40,000 old complaint files that were piled up in the department since 2057 B.S. The minister said these files, which were ignored for decades, will be properly organized and digitized. After that, a deep investigation will start to give justice for the victims.

New Online Complaint Portal Launched

To help cheated workers get easy access to justice, the government has launched a new online complaint system. Minister Yadav officially launched this portal named “Ujury DOFE Government Nepal” during a program organized at the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal.

Before this new system, victims who faced fraud, extra fee charging, or those sent abroad without proper permission had to physically visit the department office to register their complaint. But now, they can easily submit their complaints from home through online system.
