The Social Development Office in Lalitpur, under the Bagmati Province Government, has announced free skill-based training programs in tailoring, beautician, and cane and bamboo craft for local citizens.


The Social Development Office under Ministry of Health and Social Development of Bagmati Province, located in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur, has published an exciting notice for free skill-based training. This program is running as per the annual program for fiscal year 2083/084, with an aim to help local citizens become self-employed and independent. The office is offering training in three areas: Level-1 Tailoring, Level-1 Beautician, and Level-1 Cane and Bamboo Craft.

Training Details and Seats Available

There are a total of 100 seats available, with 25 participants in each group. Eligible Nepalese citizens can apply within 15 days of the notice publication date, which means the last date to submit application is Bhadra 8, 2083.

To apply for the training, there are some minimum educational requirements. For tailoring and beautician training, applicants must have passed class 8. For the cane and bamboo craft training, passing class 5 is enough. Applicants age must be between 16 to 45 years old.

Benefits and Requirements

This is a 65 working days training program, which makes up about 390 hours of learning. The best part is that the participants will also receive daily allowance of Rs. 100 for snacks. This will surely help with travel and snack expenses during training period.

If you want to apply, you need to submit some documents. These include one copy of Nepalese citizenship certificate, one copy of educational certificate, and four passport-sized photos. You can easily get the application forms from the training location or the office itself.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates will be done through interview. The office has also mentioned that poor, underprivileged, Dalit, backward communities, injured people, martyr families, and single women will get priority for selection.
