Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has emphasized the need to digitize all systems across the country to enhance technological development. Speaking at the 34th meeting of the APT Wireless Group in Kathmandu on Monday, he stated that the government is currently working on AI policies and plans to introduce 5G services in major cities.
The minister highlighted the importance of transitioning to a fully digital system without paperwork. He mentioned that to achieve this goal, Nepal must digitalize its entire infrastructure.
Minister Gurung further stressed that wireless technology plays a crucial role in digital transformation and economic growth. He urged all stakeholders to work together to establish Nepal as an IT hub. He noted that wireless communication is essential for economic development, innovation, and integration, particularly for geographically diverse and mountainous countries like Nepal.
He also pointed out that rapid technological progress requires a structured wireless communication policy. Nepal, being rich in natural resources and cultural diversity, can greatly benefit from wireless technology to connect its diverse landscapes. The meeting, he believes, will serve as a significant platform to foster technological advancement in the country.
