Loot and Vandalism at Bhatbhateni Supermarket Causes Over Rs. 8 Million in Damages

A major incident of vandalism and looting at Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Koteshwar, Kathmandu, has resulted in damages exceeding Rs. 8vmillion. A group of pro-monarchy activists reportedly entered the supermarket, causing destruction and stealing goods worth Rs. 6.488 million.

 

Additionally, the outer structure of the Bhatbhateni building suffered damages worth Rs. 1.185 million, including shattered glass panels. Showcases and other store materials worth Rs. 0.265 million were also destroyed. Furthermore, Rs. 94,000 in cash from the store’s counters was looted.

 

The police have arrested some individuals involved in the incident, and further investigations are underway to identify all perpetrators and recover stolen goods.
