Himalaya Airlines Launches Regular Lhasa-Pokhara Flights

Himalaya Airlines has officially commenced its first commercial flight connecting Lhasa, China, and Pokhara, Nepal. The airline’s aircraft landed at Pokhara International Airport at 1:55 PM on Monday, carrying 107 passengers from Lhasa.

Previously, flights on this route were operated only as charter services. However, with the establishment of Pokhara International Airport, Himalaya Airlines has now initiated regular commercial flights. The aircraft will remain in Pokhara overnight and depart for Lhasa on Tuesday morning.

According to Himalaya Airlines, the Lhasa-Pokhara route will have one scheduled flight per week. Upon arrival, the passengers were welcomed by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey, Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, and Kaski Chief District Officer Bharatmani Pandey.
