Microfinance Borrowers Suspend Protest After 14 Point Agreement With Government and 323 People Return Home

Microfinance borrowers have suspended their sit-in protest in Lalitpur after signing a 14-point agreement with the government, allowing 323 people to return back to their homes.

Protesters Return Home in Sajha Buses

To implement the agreement, the government arranged Sajha Yatayat buses at 8:50 AM today to send the borrowers back to their destinations. Total of 323 borrowers were bid farewell in 8 buses in the presence of officials from different government bodies.

The borrowers had come to the capital from various districts like Jhapa, Morang, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Sindhuli, Bara, Parsa, and Nawalparasi. They have now been sent back to their own home districts.
