Today is the final day for investors to be eligible for dividends from two major insurance companies—National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLICL) and NLG Insurance Company Limited (NLG)—as well as for right shares from Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN).
NLICL has proposed a 15% dividend for the fiscal year 2080/81, which includes 5% bonus shares and 10% cash dividend. The dividend will be distributed based on its current paid-up capital of Rs. 5.21 Arba. Additionally, the company will also distribute a 0.789473% cash amount to cover taxes on the bonus shares and cash dividend. These decisions will be finalized during NLICL’s 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for Ashadh 5, 2082, at its head office in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, starting from 10:30 AM.
Similarly, NLG Insurance is giving out a 2.631579% dividend, which includes 2.5% bonus shares and a small 0.131579% cash amount for tax purposes. These proposals will be discussed at the company’s 19th AGM on Jestha 29, 2082, to be held at Amrapali Banquet, Bhatbhateni, Kathmandu, from 11:00 AM.
For both companies, the book closure date is Jestha 22, 2082, meaning only those shareholders who maintain their shares until today will be eligible to receive the dividends and attend the AGMs.
In addition, today is also the last trading day for shareholders to qualify for the 100% right shares offered by Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN). The company is issuing 5,358,150 units of right shares at a 1:1 ratio, meaning existing shareholders will get one new share for each share they already own. The issue is worth Rs. 53.58 crores, and the company’s paid-up capital will double to Rs. 1.07 Arba after this issuance. RBB Merchant Banking Limited has been appointed as the issue manager.
To be eligible for BARUN’s right shares, investors must also hold their shares until Jestha 22, 2082—so only those who buy by today will qualify.
