Bhatbhateni Group Begins Work on Advanced Garment Factory in Bhairahawa SEZ

The Bhatbhateni Group is setting up a modern garment factory in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Bhairahawa. The foundation stone for the project was laid on Wednesday with a traditional Bhoomipuja ceremony, attended by businessman Umesh Shrestha and his team.

The event was held in the presence of Bhatbhateni Group Chairman Min Bahadur Gurung. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Panu Paudel said this project marks a new milestone in the group’s business diversification. He added that the project also sends a positive message about the improving industrial climate in Nepal.

The factory aims to create around 1,200 jobs, mostly for local people, which is expected to boost the economic development of the region.

Built to international standards, the factory will include advanced machinery, health and safety measures, a clean environment system, and a solar power system generating over 1 megawatt, along with battery energy storage.

The garments produced at the factory will be sold both in local Bhatbhateni stores and in international markets. According to COO Paudel, the project is not just about increasing local production and job opportunities, but also shows that Nepal’s industrial policies are getting stronger.
