Buddha Air has released a formal clarification regarding misinformation about its airfare prices for flights between Kathmandu and Dhangadhi after misleading posts appeared on social media.
Clarification on Flight Fares
The company expressed its strong objection to fake information that was created using AI and Photoshop to confuse passengers. They have clearly stated that the one-way ticket for a flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi is officially available at Rs 10,800. Because this is the lowest price, most tickets for many days are already sold out.
Reasons for Low Fare Strategy
This minimum fare was introduced because of the recent floods and landslides in the Rasuwa area, which caused major damage to the highway and stopped road transport for a long time. The airline decided to offer these low rates to help passengers travel easily until road conditions improve, and this arrangement will continue until the Dashain and Tihar festivals.
Warning Against Overcharging
The company warned that if anyone is found selling tickets at a higher price than the official rate, they will face legal action. They also said that the company will taking strict action against any person or travel agency that charges more than the rates set by the airline’s official system. For safe booking, passengers are requested to use the official website or mobile app of Buddha Air.
Current Flight Demand
According to the airline, there are more people leaving Kathmandu right now than people entering the city. For those flying to Kathmandu, the company has provided special offers with promo codes which can be accessed through their website and mobile application.
