MP Metmani Chaudhary Faces Complaint Over Bounced Cheque Worth Rs. 5.4 Crore

Metmani Chaudhary, a Member of Parliament from the CPN (Unified Socialist) and the party’s Chief Whip, has had a legal complaint filed against him related to a bounced cheque. The cheque in question is worth Rs. 5.4 crore, and the case is being treated as a possible banking offense.

Chaudhary, who was elected from Dang-1 constituency, has had a formal complaint sent to the District Police Office in Dang via the postal system.

According to Superintendent of Police Arjun Timsina, the complaint is currently being reviewed. Although an official case has not yet been filed, the police have already started an initial investigation.

Sources within the police say legal experts are being consulted to decide whether the case should be treated as banking fraud or deception under the law. As of now, the identity of the person who filed the complaint has not been made public.

Attempts to contact MP Chaudhary for his response have been unsuccessful. Police officials mentioned that many details in the complaint are still unclear, and further decisions will be made only after a full study of the case.
