Gorkhapatra Sansthan has published a vacancy notice to recruit local news reporters (stringers) in 74 districts and seven provincial capitals.
Gorkhapatra Sansthan, central office at Dharmapath Kathmandu, have published a vacancy announcement for the post of local news reporters, also known as stringers. The corporation is planning to appoint one reporter in each of the 74 districts of Nepal, excluding Kathmandu Valley. Additionally, they will hire one reporter each in the seven provincial capitals: Biratnagar, Janakpur, Hetauda, Pokhara, Deukhuri, Birendranagar, and Dhangadhi. This makes a total of 81 local news reporters across the country.
Required Educational Qualifications and Experience
To apply for this vacancy, applicant must have passed Proficiency Certificate Level (10+2) and have at least three years of experience in the field of journalism. Candidates who have passed SLC or SEE must have at least five years of experience. For people with a Bachelor or Master degree, a minimum of one year of experience in journalism is required. The official vacancy notice also mentions that candidates who studied journalism and have good knowledge in multimedia will get priority.
Selection Process, Salary, and Contract Tenure
During the appointment of these news reporters, the corporation will follow inclusive principles. Priority will be given to women, Madhesi, Dalit, minorities, indigenous groups, and backward communities. Interested candidates must submit their application by clearly mentioning the district or provincial capital where they wish to work. Along with application, they need to submit a copy of Nepali citizenship, academic and experience certificates, and their personal biodata.
The monthly salary of selected news reporters will be as decided by Gorkhapatra Sansthan. The working period for hired reporters will be for a maximum of one year. The contract period will automatically end on the last day of Ashad (Ashad Masanth) every year.
