The Public Procurement Monitoring Office under the Prime Minister’s Office has issued a seven-day ultimatum to 11 construction companies to submit written clarifications after failing to respond to prior notices regarding potential blacklisting.
The Government of Nepal has asked 11 construction companies to submit written explanations within seven days regarding their potential blacklisting. The directive was issued by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office, operating under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
These companies had earlier been recommended for blacklisting by various public agencies. In response, the office had previously issued a notice giving them 30 days to provide valid reasons or evidence to avoid being blacklisted. However, none of the companies submitted any clarification within that period, prompting the office to now issue a final seven-day ultimatum.
The companies asked for clarification include Shivam Construction (Nepalgunj), Galaxy Construction and Suppliers Pvt. Ltd. (Kathmandu), Jai Mayuri Trading Pvt. Ltd.
(Morang), Purnagiri Nirman Sewa (Dadeldhura), GB Metal Craft and Suppliers Pvt. Ltd. (Birgunj), Silk-Sinomac (Lalitpur), U & I and Himchuli JV (Dolpa), Durga Nirman Sewa (Bardiya), Deepjyoti Nirman Sewa (Siraha), Sahayogi Contractors and Trading Company Pvt. Ltd. (Palpa), and Nisha Construction and Suppliers Pvt. Ltd. (Gulmi).
The office stated that if the companies fail to submit their explanations within the prescribed timeframe, the process to officially blacklist them will be initiated.
