Highest-Paid CEOs in Nepal’s Commercial Banks: Who Earns the Most?

Nepal’s banking sector is becoming increasingly competitive, with commercial banks making significant investments in technology, services, and expansion to maximize profits. As a result, the salaries of bank CEOs, who play a crucial role in financial growth and strategic management, have been steadily rising. According to recently published annual reports, Nepal’s commercial bank CEOs receive salaries in the millions, with some earning over eight crores per year.

he highest-paid CEO in Nepal is Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar of Standard Chartered Bank, who earns an annual salary of NPR 85.19 million (8.51 crore).

Following him is Jyoti Prakash Pandey, the CEO of NIMB Bank, with an annual salary of NPR 41.25 million (4.12 crore). His earnings include a basic salary of NPR 16.08 million, allowances of NPR 10.71 million, a bonus of NPR 10.6 million, Dashain allowances of NPR 2.23 million, and a provident fund contribution of NPR 1.6 million.

Ashok Sherchan, the CEO of Prabhu Bank, ranks third, earning NPR 39.43 million (3.94 crore) annually. His salary consists of NPR 31.23 million in basic pay, NPR 3.53 million in bonuses, and NPR 4.67 million in Dashain and leave allowances.

In fourth place is Roshan Kumar Neupane, CEO of NIC Asia Bank, with an annual salary of NPR 29.86 million (2.98 crore), which includes NPR 24.07 million in salary and allowances, NPR 5.53 million in bonuses, and NPR 0.12 million in other benefits.

Sunil KC, the CEO of NMB Bank, earns an annual salary of NPR 24.16 million (2.41 crore). His pay package includes NPR 9 million in basic salary, NPR 0.9 million in provident fund contributions, NPR 8.5 million in allowances, NPR 5.71 million in bonuses, and NPR 0.045 million in other benefits.

Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, the CEO of Nabil Bank, ranks sixth on the list with an annual salary of NPR 23.65 million (2.36 crore), including NPR 13.25 million in basic salary and NPR 9.57 million in other benefits.
