IRD Launches Taxpayer Incentive Portal and Urges Consumers to Register Cash Bills for Cash Prizes

The Inland Revenue Department has launched a taxpayer incentive portal, urging consumers who buy goods and services in cash to upload their bills for a chance to win exciting cash prizes.

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has asked consumers to participate in their taxpayer incentive gift program by registering their purchase bills.

According to notice issued by the department on Saturday, consumers who have bought goods or services worth Rs. 100 or more in cash since Saun 1 and took real PAN or VAT bills can now upload them. The bills can be uploaded through the prize.ird.gov.np portal.

Automatic Entry for QR Transactions

The Deputy Director General of the department, Janak Raj Sharma, shared that transactions of more than Rs. 100 done through QR codes are automatically included in the department system. Because of this, there is no need to manually enter those QR bills for now. However, he said that consumers must keep original bills safe to claim their gifts.

The department have also requested all consumers to compulsory ask for PAN or VAT bills when making a purchase. If any shop or business refuses to give a bill, the department wants consumers to inform them about it.

Exciting Cash Prizes and Budget Plan

This taxpayer incentive scheme was started from Saun 1, and the department is preparing to release the results of the first 15 days next week. Under this program, one lucky winner will get Rs. 1 lakh daily after tax deduction, and every 15 days, one winner will receive a bumper prize of Rs. 10 lakh cash.

This initiative was implemented as announced by the Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle in the budget of fiscal year 2083/84.
