Anti-Corruption Body Summons Mayor Balen Shah Over France Trip
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has asked Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah to provide details about his visit to France last year.
Mayor Shah had traveled to France in the month of Jestha, 2081, to attend the Cannes Film Festival. During this trip, a reception was also held in his honor. However, he had taken two members of his secretariat along with him, presenting them as employees.
After receiving a complaint about this matter, the CIAA has called on Mayor Shah to explain why those secretariat members were taken on the official visit.
